Mohibus Samad & Komrunnessa Chowdhury Welfare Trust
(MKC Welfare Trust)
Islam is a beautiful way of life in which charity is held very high, it’s regarded an action of immense reward.
Why should we give charity?
1. To become the beloved of Allah
We were created to worship Allah (swt) and to do everything possible to earn His love. Giving to those less fortunate is an easy way to do that. Although one of the benefits of charity is being able to help others, Islam teaches us that the giver benefits the most.
“Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love…” (3:92)
When you give to charity, you’re not just giving to other people: you’re giving to Allah (swt). You’re taking the provision that He gave you and giving it back to Him in hope that He will gift you the ultimate gift: His everlasting Mercy.
“The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
On the day when all other shade will be gone, Allah will provide His shade for those who give charity and care for the poor. The Muslim’s sacrifice in this life will be their protection on the Day of Judgment.
2. To fulfil a Sunnah
Prophet Muhammad (saw) was the most generous human in history, He(SAW) is our Uswatul Hasanah (best of examples). It is our duty to follow his Sunnah and imitate his giving habits as much as we can.
Jaabir (ra) reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) never said “no” to anyone who asked him for something. (Bukhari and Muslim)
Whilst we are very comfortable and our needs are met in the UK many in our home lands are deprived of basic necessities of life.
Its with this moto and the Islamic reasons and evidences mentioned above in mind that MKC Trust began in 2000, when family members decided to get together to help those in need in the surrounding areas.
We assisted in many different ways, from providing tuition fees for students, to helping towards funding marriages for those in need. As the need increased and the help we provided was in demand, we ventured out to asking the general public for their generosity.
There is an unfathomable amount of need and destitute around the world, and we are in the best position to help them with the Rizq Allah has blessed us with.
Here a list of campaigns and projects we actively carry out:
To provide help for the orphan and the needy is many forms, such as food, basic essential necessities and education.
- To supply tube wells to provide pure drinking water for poor communities and families.
- To help build and rebuild home for homeless people. Providing a safe and private space of living.
- To help build and rebuild better roads for use by the public and local poor villagers.
- To provide help for the improvement and establishment of educational institutions.
- To help poor families with their wedding cost. This is an immense burden on poor families with daughters due to cultural issues.
- According to the Hadith of the Prophet (SAW) seeking knowledge is compulsory upon every male and female Muslim. To fulfil this commandment, the trust will try to establish libraries in different locations. Hence, we try to provide books, learning materials, stationary and scholarships for talented students amongst the poor and needy.
Additionally, we endeavour to help and support all the poor and needy people wherever possible.
With the help of Allah and beautiful generous souls who have supported and funded our campaigns we have expanded our work in many cities in Bangladesh and even have started our projects in India.
In sha Allah with your support we hope to spread out and help the poor and needy everywhere around the world.
